Choke Setup - this carburetor uses a very simple and effective factory oem "divorced" also referred to as "remote" choke. The bi-metallic heat activated choke works by using engine heat off the manifold to activate the bi-metallic spring, which flips the choke lever open. It is easier to install than an electric choke (doesn't require a pos. wire), plus will never burn out and cause problems like the electric chokes do after several years of use. This is the same proven choke system that GM used for many years on its factory 4bbl quadrajets. The choke will work on any year small block or big block GM product if upgraded to the Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake manifold. It will also work on all stock cast iron GM quadrajet equipped manifolds from 1965 to 1974. The last photo shows this carburetor on an edelbrock performer intake on a 1985 small block chevy 350.

THE STAHLE PERFORMANCE INC DIFFERENCE: QUALITY: There is a major difference in the quality of a carburetor rebuild by those who simply install a gasket kit and those who RECONDITION a carburetor. We go beyond rebuilding by reconditioning parts to or above original holley factory specs. We have in-house machine shop capabilities and have designed our own tooling specifically for Holley Carbs.
REBUILD PROCESS: We disassemble and soak every carburetor in NAPA MAC professional carb cleaner. This removes all varnishes and deposits that may have accumulated in the carburetor passages and ports. All main bodies and metering blocks are blown clean with 150 psi compressed air. All carburetors are througly inspected for defects or worn/broken parts. Our carbs are GUARANTEED not to have mechanical defects such as stripped threads, cracked baseplates, worn throttle shafts, etc. All carburetors are hand assembled. We install jets, pump nozzles, power valves, and metering plates sizes as specified in the Holley Carburetor Factory Specifications Book. All carburetor floats are leak tested prior to install. Our throttle shafts are hand checked for play to ensure we meet acceptable tolerance limits. We will machine throttle shaft bores to fit bushings and ream brass bushings to original size only as required for out-of tolerance units, restoring the carb to original performance specifications.
